Class Description:
Start your agility training with this class by using games to teach your dog to be calm, come when called, and focus on you regardless of distractions. We will introduce handling maneuvers and directionals such as "in", "out", "tight", and "switch". We will focus on groundwork with the use of tunnels, hoops, and gates. These activities will prepare you and your dog to do agility safely, confidently, with clarity and will give your dog a clearer understanding of effective use of body language and path work for directing your dog. At the conclusion of the session, you and your dog must demonstrate the skills needed to enroll in the next level class. You may be asked to repeat the class.
Prerequisites: Minimum age - 4 months. This class will be limited to 8 dog/handler teams.

Handling II & Introduction to Obstacles   7 Weeks

Class Description:
This class continues to work on skills you learned in Foundations & Handling I and will add more difficult sequences and directional cues, pinwheels, serpentines, etc. Your dog will be introduced to all agility obstacles including weave poles.
Prerequisities: Completion of Foundations and Handling I within the past year.

This class will be held outdoors at Mudlick FRONT FIELD.Applications must be received by 5:00 PM on the Thursday prior
to the start of the sessions in order to be included in the class.

Class Description:
This class is designed for those dog/handler teams who plan to or are currently competing in Intro/Novice NADAC and will focus on speed and flow through courses. Emphasis will be placed on proofing skills learned in the Handling II & Introduction to Obstacles class and will include longer sequences and /or Novice level courses. Handlers will learn how to direct their dogs to obstacles and through various length sequences/courses.
Prerequisities:
Completion of Handling II & Introduction to Obstacles within the past year.

Class Description:
This class is based on Susan Salo's jump grid training. The grids presented each week will focus on different aspects of jumping.
Prerequisites: Dogs in the class must be 1 year or older. Dogs should have a start line stay and be able to be sent to a target. Handlers need to commit to practicing with their dogs between classes.

Class Description:
Dog/handler teams in this class will work to become proficient at all agility equipment at full height. Obstacles
used in this class may include A-Frame, Dog Walk, teeter, table, jumps,
tunnels, chute, hoops, barrels and weaves. Handlers will learn how to direct their dogs to obstacles and through various length sequences.
Prerequisites:
Handling II & Intro. To Obstacles or have the approval of the Agility Training Chair.

Class Description:
This class is a continuation of the previous Advanced Beginner AKC. More advanced handling skills and distance work will be included in the curriculum, along with continued training on motivation and focus skills.
Prerequisites:
Dogs and handlers must have a working knowledge of jumps, contacts, and beginning courses. Dogs should be able to complete a 6-set weave pole. Permission from instructors for those folks unsure if this class is what they need.
