AKC Rally Advanced/Intro Excellent – Wednesdays, 11 AM

This class continues introduction to the sport of AKC Rally and will work on skills and information needed for trialing. Rally Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced signs (Signs 1 – 123) will be taught and how to correctly perform them. Teams may work through short sequences. Small distractions may be added. Rally Rules and Regulations plus how to prepare for a trial will be discussed and practiced.

Prerequisites: Successful completion Rally Novice or approval of the instructor. Must have knowledge of heel position, fronts and finishes to the left and right, controlled heeling with the dog on your left side.

RALLY ENROLLMENT:

Because the club’s rally classes have become increasingly popular, we are limiting certain enrollments to maximize training opportunities for students.  Effective with the January 2026 session, students cannot have:

• Multiple dogs in the same class, or
• The same dog enrolled in multiple classes

If you sign up to have more than one dog in the same class or sign up the same dog for multiple levels, you will be wait listed for the second dog/class until the enrollment period ends.

If this is the first time your dog is attending one of our classes (or if your records may be out of date), you MUST supply your dog’s proof of up-to-date vaccination (Rabies and DHPP). Please upload your records now (be sure they have your name and dog’s name printed on the record) or bring them to the first class. Your vaccination records MUST be on file with us before you are permitted to participate in class.

Notes About Classes and Fees

1) SCCTC will notify you via email when your registration has been received. 2) Your registration is not confirmed until we receive payment (via PayPal or check). If you are paying by check you MUST bring a check to the first class (SCCTC charges a $35 fee for all returned checks). Make checks payable to: SCCTC. 3) You will receive an email from the Instructor at least 2 days prior to the first class with any particulars about what to bring, appropriate type of collar/leash, etc. 4) Unless notified otherwise, for “Puppy” and “Beginner 1” classes, the first class is for handlers only; dogs should not come until the second class. 5) After the first week of class with dogs, refunds are not available without the prior approval of appropriate Chair (Obedience, Agility or Scent Sports) or the Training Director.

Understand that we are responsible for the dogs and any visitors actions at all times, and that Star City Canine Training Club of Roanoke (“SCCTC”) may dismiss any dog or visitor for aggressive or unruly behavior.
Agree to hold harmless SCCTC, its members, directors, officers, agents, or instructors, and the owner or lessor of the premises in case of any accident, injury, or illness to me, my dog, or any member of my family or visitor, which, in any way, results from or arises out of participation in classes offered or sponsored by SCCTC, or while on (or adjacent to) the premises.
