This class is designed for older puppies (18 weeks and older) and dogs with no previous obedience training. You will learn how to teach your dog using reward-based training techniques that will lay the foundation for effective communication, understanding, and form a strong relationship with your canine companion. Beginner 1 includes instruction for the following skills: attention, sit, down, wait, recall/come, stay, stand, leash walking, as well as good manners. Heel position, fronts and finishes may be introduced.
Requirements: Students must be willing to practice these skills at home each week.
Notes: Maximum of 8 students. THIS IS A 6 WEEK CLASS. These classes are not for dogs with severe behavioral problems. DOGS COME THE FIRST NIGHT OF CLASS.
