Do you have questions with your container training when it comes to distractions? Would you like a dog that is more focused on target odor vs novel odor? This class breaks down distraction training starting with low level distractors and building up to the higher-level distractors such as food and toys. Each class builds on the previous class. Students will learn how to manipulate odor and impulse control to help the dog become successful. This class will be held at the Star City Training Building, 1860 Apperson Drive, Salem, VA 24153.
Prerequisites: Dogs need to be on odor and able to search for odor only.
Students will need about 10 containers to work with their dog in between classes to move forward. This class provides tools to help with working through distractions which also requires maintenance throughout the dog’s training. It’s highly recommended that you video your dog in class and away from class.
Notes: Maximum eight students
Instructor: Bunny Rasnick, CNWI
Dates: Sept 16, 23, 30, Oct 7, 2024, (4 weeks) 6:30 – 7:30 PM
