Course Building Seminar For Agility Handlers

Star City Canine Training Club is pleased to announce a Course Building Seminar with Rebecca Umberger on Saturday July 27, 2024.

This is a great opportunity to learn how to read agility course maps and be able to set courses with correct obstacle placement.

This is a rain or shine event. No canine partners, bring comfy chair and notepads, water and snacks will be available.

One Session will be offered July 27 at Mudlick Field (3201 Old Salem Road, Roanoke)

Rebecca Umberger has been involved in NADAC agility for 12 years with several dogs. NADAC is the North American Dog Agility Council and is known for its focus on distance and speed. Becki’s currently competes with her two Border collies Keaton and Gordy and has been performing big distance for 7 years. Keaton and Becki qualified and competed in the premier distance division called “stakes” and reserved champion at NADAC Championships. Becki and Keaton have recorded many successful “bonus” runs where the handler directs the dog on the course at distances of 25-40 feet, all while staying in a predefined area on the course. Becki has been to NADAC Championships four times and qualified for finals.  

Becki is also NADAC judge and has been teaching locally for several years. She also has been an SCCTC member and agility instructor for the club. She currently has 3 dogs and lives in Hardy, Virginia with her husband.

 Becki will instruct the ins and outs of course building for practice and competition especially needed for distance work in the NADAC venue.

Please send the registration form and fee by July 20, 2024 (checks made out to SCCTC).
