Foundation Skills for Competition Dogs – Continuation, Mondays, 4:30 PM

This class continues to focus on teaching our dogs foundation skills that help create fantastic sport dogs. The skills introduced are appropriate for obedience, rally, agility and anyone interested in progressing their dog’s skills and creating a better connection with your dog. The behaviors to be taught include: crate games, go to a platform/bed and stay there, impulse control games, motivational retrieve, handler focus, and decompression skills. Students will need to bring or have access to a crate for their dog to use in class. Soft crates are not advised but can be used if a vari-kennel or wire crate is not available.

Requirements: Completion of prior Foundation Skills for Competition Dogs class

Notes: Maximum of 6 students.

Vaccination Records (required)

If this is the first time your dog is attending one of our classes (or if your records may be out of date), you MUST supply your dog’s proof of up-to-date vaccination (Rabies and DHPP). Please upload your records now (be sure they have your name and dog’s name printed on the record) or bring them to the first class. Your vaccination records MUST be on file with us before you are permitted to participate in class.

Notes About Classes and Fees

1) SCCTC will notify you via email when your registration has been received. 2) Your registration is not confirmed until we receive payment (via PayPal or check). If you are paying by check you MUST bring a check to the first class (SCCTC charges a $35 fee for all returned checks). Make checks payable to: SCCTC. 3) You will receive an email from the Instructor at least 2 days prior to the first class with any particulars about what to bring, appropriate type of collar/leash, etc. 4) Unless notified otherwise, for “Puppy” and “Beginner 1” classes, the first class is for handlers only; dogs should not come until the second class. 5) After the first week of class with dogs, refunds are not available without the prior approval of appropriate Chair (Obedience, Agility or Scent Sports) or the Training Director.

Understand that we are responsible for the dogs and any visitors actions at all times, and that Star City Canine Training Club of Roanoke (“SCCTC”) may dismiss any dog or visitor for aggressive or unruly behavior.
Agree to hold harmless SCCTC, its members, directors, officers, agents, or instructors, and the owner or lessor of the premises in case of any accident, injury, or illness to me, my dog, or any member of my family or visitor, which, in any way, results from or arises out of participation in classes offered or sponsored by SCCTC, or while on (or adjacent to) the premises.
Agree not to hold SCCTC or its instructors responsible for any actions of my dog during or following the completion of any class.
