Pet Therapy – Mondays, 6:30 PM

This class will prepare you with your canine for the Pet Therapy Team Evaluation, specifically via Pet Partners, Inc. Throughout this course, you will learn proper Pet Therapy Team procedures, expectations, and how to be successful in engaging in Pet Therapy and/or Animal Assisted Therapy work.  The first class session will be held on May 12th from 6:30 until 8:30 PM at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 8115 Williamson Road, Roanoke, VA 24019.  NO DOGS MAY 12th.  The remaining class sessions will be held at the locations listed below.  Windsor Hills Methodist Church (5/15, 5/29) and Star City Training Bldg (6/2, 6/9).

Prerequisites: AKC CGC certificate or permission of the Pet Therapy Course Instructor.

Vaccination Records (required)

If this is the first time your dog is attending one of our classes (or if your records may be out of date), you MUST supply your dog’s proof of up-to-date vaccination (Rabies and DHPP). Please upload your records now (be sure they have your name and dog’s name printed on the record) or bring them to the first class. Your vaccination records MUST be on file with us before you are permitted to participate in class.

Notes About Classes and Fees

1) SCCTC will notify you via email when your registration has been received. 2) Your registration is not confirmed until we receive payment (via PayPal or check). If you are paying by check you MUST bring a check to the first class (SCCTC charges a $35 fee for all returned checks). Make checks payable to: SCCTC. 3) You will receive an email from the Instructor at least 2 days prior to the first class with any particulars about what to bring, appropriate type of collar/leash, etc. 4) Unless notified otherwise, for “Puppy” and “Beginner 1” classes, the first class is for handlers only; dogs should not come until the second class. 5) After the first week of class with dogs, refunds are not available without the prior approval of appropriate Chair (Obedience, Agility or Scent Sports) or the Training Director.

Understand that we are responsible for the dogs and any visitors actions at all times, and that Star City Canine Training Club of Roanoke (“SCCTC”) may dismiss any dog or visitor for aggressive or unruly behavior.
Agree to hold harmless SCCTC, its members, directors, officers, agents, or instructors, and the owner or lessor of the premises in case of any accident, injury, or illness to me, my dog, or any member of my family or visitor, which, in any way, results from or arises out of participation in classes offered or sponsored by SCCTC, or while on (or adjacent to) the premises.
Agree not to hold SCCTC or its instructors responsible for any actions of my dog during or following the completion of any class.
